Kids Are Funny...
Each child has there own thing... some are good in sports, some are intellects, and some.. well some are just plain FUNNY. That's my son. This kid is constantly cracking us up. He's only four, and he would be the perfect candidate for that show Bill Cosby did.. Kids Say The Darndest Things (or whatever it was).
Here's an example of what I mean...
This morning he was practicing printing his name on these worksheets his teacher gave out. I walked into the kitchen to see how it was going, and made a comment on what an excellent job he was doing. His reply was...............
"Please don't disturb me Mommy".
(I remind you, he's FOUR).
Then a little bit later, I was cleaning the bathroom counter upstairs, and this cleaner I use has a strong pine smell to it. Well Connor comes in and says....
"Mommy, it stinks in here. I sure hope a giraffe didn't die in here."
Another one... Night before last, he was coughing a lot, so I gave him a teaspoon of medicine, and he says....
"I sure hope this medicine doesn't turn me into a lizard".
I tell you, this child makes me laugh... A LOT!

I am...
I came across this wondeful site in my travels called "The Simple Woman's Daybook". I love the idea of focusing on the little things.. the little blessings we often over look in our lives.
Here are my thoughts....
Outside my window... it's dark, but despite all the rain today, the sky is bursting with the twinkling of stars.
I am thinking... how relaxing today became when I decided to put my 'to do' list to the side.
I am thankful for... a husband who works so hard to make sure our lives are comfortable and without want.
I am wearing... some comfy cords and an old t-shirt.
I am remembering... the things I still have to add to my to-do list, and am thankful I have the abilty to do them.
I am going... to treat myself to a new snuggly hoodie sometime in the near future!
I am reading... Vendetta by Fern Michaels, but I'm struggling to get into this story.
I am hoping... to find the perfect program to put the kids in this fall.. maybe karate, or piano again. Hmmm, just not sure.
On my mind... the regular stresses and thoughts of everyday life.
From the learning rooms... it's important to stop and celebrate imperfection.
Noticing that... my little boy isn't so little anymore, and my little girl is maturing at an alarming rate.
Pondering these words... "You teach people how to treat you."
From the kitchen... I'll soon be making a pineapple ham for our Thanksgiving celebrations this weekend.
Around the house... I'd like to take the kids to pick out some pumpkins this weekend for the front porch. Maybe add some cornstalks too.
One of my favorite things... hot coffee with double cream. And quiet time to enjoy it.

Fall Is In The Air
Well the weekend has come and gone, and boy we had a blast at the 'Get Your Spook On' Crop at Art Freckles. I was sad to see it end, and the inventory begin... yuck! Ah well, I guess that's all part and parcel now isn't it??
Looking outside my window... actually ANY window of my house, we are surrounded by the gorgeous colors of fall. I love this time of year.. Cold enough for a sweater, but still warm enough to get away with sandals some days! I love the colors, the smells and the decorations of this time of year.. much more so then Christmas even!
I thought I'd share my fall spirit off with a few cards I made for a challenge at the crop this past weekend.
